Are you an experienced Property Underwriter looking for an opportunity where you can use your technical expertise, build strong broker relationships and develop your career within a specialist underwriting environment? We are recruiting for an established and highly regarded specialist MGA to join its successful Real Estate team in Croydon. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced underwriting team handling a varied portfolio of Property Owners business, from individual risks through to larger portfolios across commercial, residential, mixed-use and more complex property risks.

The Role

  • Underwrite new and existing Property Owners and Real Estate risks within agreed authority.
  • Assess commercial, residential, mixed-use and portfolio business.
  • Consider more complex and non-standard property risks where appropriate.
  • Review presentations, claims information, valuations and risk details to make commercially sound underwriting decisions.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing and coverage with brokers.
  • Manage renewals and identify opportunities to retain and grow profitable business.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers and provide a responsive, knowledgeable underwriting service.
  • Work closely with colleagues across underwriting and distribution.
  • Maintain strong underwriting discipline, governance and portfolio performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Property or Property Owners underwriting experience.
  • A good understanding of commercial and/or residential property risks.
  • Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience working with brokers and developing productive relationships.
  • The confidence to make commercial underwriting decisions within authority.
  • A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing within the Property market.

You may currently be working as a Property Underwriter, Property Owners Underwriter, Real Estate Underwriter, Commercial Underwriter or Development Underwriter.
