Hybrid role with up to 60% homeworking and 40% in the Glasgow office after initial onboarding. About the role As a Regional Team Leader for the Commercial Underwriting Team, you\’ll have the opportunity to manage and develop a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional service and achieving outstanding results. Your primary responsibility will be to support your team members in reaching high performance standards, meeting service level agreements, and adhering to regulatory requirements. You\’ll support an engaging and motivated environment where your team can thrive. You’ll play a crucial role recruiting, coaching, and developing your team to ensure they have the skills and behaviours needed to deliver consistent, first-class service. This includes planning, prioritising, and monitoring performance targets, and communicating effectively to meet the objectives of the wider Regional Commercial Underwriting Team. In this role, you’ll also build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including team members, the wider Regional Commercial Underwriting teams, Agents, and other NFU Mutual departments. About you You’re a results-driven leader with a proven track record of achieving KPIs and objectives. Your ability to build and maintain effective working relationships is second to none, and you’ll have a strong background in people and operational management. You’re committed to creating a high-performing environment where individuals feel supported, motivated, and accountable and use strong communication and collaboration skills to bring people with you. You’ll bring experience in coaching, training, and providing constructive feedback, with a knack for identifying and implementing process improvements. While knowledge of general insurance is desirable, your strengths lie in problem-solving, time management, and effective communication. You’ll also: Set clear goals for yourself and your team, using your time management skills to prioritise effectively and ensure consistent progress against targets. A track record of leading change with confidence, driving continuous improvement that delivers real impact. Strong problem-solving skills paired with hands-on experience in operational management, enabling you to tackle challenges and optimise performance. Use performance data and insights to make informed decisions, drive improvements, and adapt plans where needed to stay on track. Communicate with impact—whether giving feedback, leading performance conversations, or aligning your team to wider business goals—and always encourage open dialogue.
