Position Overview

This Legal Counsel role will be a key member of Insulet’s Legal team, reporting to the Vice President, Global Regulatory Counsel. We seek a highly collaborative, experienced commercial/regulatory attorney with a proven track record of working as a partner with business clients in an in‑house setting, preferably within the life sciences industry. The candidate will provide legal and business judgment to balance risk mitigation with supporting company growth, advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and other business matters, and supporting large‑scale special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advisory services in a solution‑ and business‑oriented manner to the commercial/regulatory functional areas, including Quality, Regulatory, Clinical/Medical Affairs, Post‑Market, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and Managed Care/Market Access.
  • Manage labeling and marketing review of Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) and HCP marketing materials; develop global marketing strategy and competitive positioning; monitor and respond to regulatory agency inquiries.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and guide on a variety of agreements such as purchase agreements, software licensing agreements, NDAs, lease agreements, contractor/vendor terms, and rebate agreements for pharmaceutical distribution.
  • Work closely with business teams to provide high‑quality, pragmatic legal advice that supports the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve contract structure, processes, and implementation of best practices.
  • Track and identify changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the medical device industry worldwide, and adjust company strategies accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proven experience solving practical, multi‑variable problems with excellent risk‑based judgment.

Education and Experience

  • Law degree from an accredited law school/university (JD, LLB, or equivalent).
  • 3–6 years of broad‑based legal experience in regulatory, commercial contracting, and compliance work, specifically with notified bodies and European regulatory agencies and directives.
  • Experience with a medical device or life sciences company preferred; either a major law firm or in‑house experience in a corporate legal department.

Additional Information

  • The position is hybrid, located in London, UK or Utrecht, Netherlands.
  • Estimated travel up to 10%, flexing with business needs.
