Position Overview
At Insulet, improving the lives of people living with diabetes through innovative technology is at the core of what we do. We cannot achieve that mission without trusted partnerships with healthcare providers including Endocrinologists, Diabetologists and Diabetes Educators. As a field-based Medical Science Liaison in the United Kingdom (UK) , you will have and maintain a high level of knowledge regarding diabetes research, scientific publications and clinical practice. You will leverage your deep understanding of Omnipod products and experience with diabetes technology to engage with Key Opinion Leaders in meaningful, scientific dissemination and exchange. Through this process you will increase Omnipod product awareness and understanding while building trusted partnerships with important customer groups.
Responsibilities
- Ensure superior medical and clinical positioning of Omnipod products t in direct contact with the Health Care Professionals in the UK
- Facilitate education and exchange of unbiased scientific information between the healthcare community and Insulet
- Identify national and regional level KOLs and Rising Star for Insulin delivery technologies for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
- Develop and implement a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and rising stars scientific engagement and communication strategy for the UK market
- Build and maintain trusted partnerships with targeted KOLs through meaningful scientific discussion and data exchange
- Collect and share insights and perspectives on key topics with internal teams to support Insulet’s strategic priorities
- Deliver scientifically credible presentations related to Insulet’s products and pipeline interests to a variety of healthcare provider audiences
- Identify KOLs for collaborative projects such as clinical research, advisory boards, symposia and medical education events
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and other field team employees to share scientific knowledge and collaborate on common business goals
- Assess and explore opportunities for research partnerships through investigator-initiated research and clinical study projects
- Attend and participate in activities related to Medical Congresses , Technology Courses and Professional Meetings such as supporting Medical Information booth
- Remain current with scientific literature and competitive activity related to diabetes technology
- Performs other duties as required

Required Skills And Competencies
- Strong scientific acumen with in-depth knowledge of diabetes. Diabetes-related technologies including automated insulin delivery would be a plus.
- Passion for technical learning with an ability to quickly understand and communicate complex scientific data and research concepts
- Effective organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and multi-task, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment
Education And Experience
- Medical or advanced health science degree (M.D., NP, PhD or PharmD) is required
- Experience in industry or academia related to diabetes. Experience in technology in Diabetes is a plus.
- Experience as an MSL would be an asset

- Travel is estimated at 50% but will flex depending on business need.
