Reporting to the VP Global Medical Affairs for US & International, the Director will serve as a leader in the Medical Affairs function, providing medical leadership and strategic vision to take KOL Engagement and Field Medical Excellence to the next level. The Director will ensure the adoption of best practices in the industry for advanced engagement, driving joint‑value creation with external stakeholders, and ensuring a systematic approach and capability building for our expanding field medical teams worldwide (Medical Scientific Liaisons). The leader in this position will play a pivotal role in shaping Insulet’s approach to KOL & Field Medical Excellence, working closely with the US and International teams cross‑functionally.
Responsibilities
- Co‑develop and drive a KOL excellence operating framework across US and International Medical Affairs, collaborating with regional and country‑level teams and cross‑functional teams in key focus areas: KOL strategy, KOL mapping, KOL engagement plans, and KOL tracking and reporting (e.g., CRM platform).
- Mature and strengthen a best‑in‑class Field Medical operating model in collaboration with regional and country‑level medical teams.
- Co‑develop an aligned approach for actionable insights reporting via field medical teams to guide enterprise‑wide strategy and contribute to the global advisory board framework.
- Map and develop a forward‑looking competency model for medical affairs teams in US and International, and execute a competency development plan.
Education & Experience
- Experience in the industry (medical devices or pharmaceutical) in areas related to KOL engagement and/or Field Medical Excellence, or relevant areas in medical affairs, such as medical excellence or effectiveness, strategic operations.
- Minimum 10 years of experience is preferred.
- Experience in capability building, competency development related roles, and training functions.
- Regional or global experience preferred.
- Experience leading teams is preferred.
- Experience with platforms or CRM systems is ideal.
