This is an opportunity for an experienced planner to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for the supply of transducer and thermal products at Instron.
Responsibilities
- Raise internal work orders and purchasing requirements to drive material through the supply chain to achieve on-time performance and MoH targets.
- Consolidate internal and external delivery commitments into one agreed order schedule, in line with customer expectations.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager (T&T) to provide real-time information on production priorities, material supply and on/behind target output data.
- Process engineering change orders, custom Bill of Materials releases, and new product introductions into existing production plans.
- Provide accurate, timely, and concise feedback to keep key stakeholders appraised of forecasting and delivery performance.
- Participate in ongoing improvement of manufacturing data accuracy.
- Maintain planning procedures and best practice to ensure continuity of supply (safety stock, MoH targets), production and delivery.
- Work with cell leaders to maintain data integrity in the ERP system; enable KPI reporting on WIP monitoring, Work Centre utilisation, planning and customer backlogs, lead time/schedule attainment.
- Liaise with UK cell leaders and US site stakeholders to communicate demand patterns and identify supply risks affecting customer shipments and line stops.
- Participate in Lean manufacturing projects and initiatives in support of the High Wycombe business.
- Schedule and manage Fast spare orders for the High Wycombe site.
- Support and cover planning and management of sales RMA’s (physical return of parts for repair – from receipt of request to return to customer).
Supplier Quality
- Monitor and evaluate supply chain processes to ensure product quality of parts supplied to Instron.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain quality control standards and procedures.
- Create and present reports on quality performance metrics.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments.
- Work closely with internal teams to align quality standards and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Key Competencies
- Ability to assess and prioritise deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of ERP-based MRP systems.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with Excel and data manipulation.
- Analytical, methodical with high accuracy.
- Good communication skills internal and external.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Level 4 or above qualification in Manufacturing Planning or equivalent, desirable.
- Certification in Supply Chain Operations or Supplier Quality, desirable.
- Minimum of a BTEC, City & Guild or Apprenticeship at Level 3 in a Planning, Supply Chain or Manufacturing discipline, with relevant planning experience.
