Overview

Full Time Sandwich, Kent Electronics Design Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reporting to: Electronics & Software Team Leader

To design and develop electronic systems for the Instro product range. This involves the entire product life cycle, from concept to end-of-life and working with the mechanical and software teams. Working within the wider Instro team to support the introduction of new products and support the existing product line.

• Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level

Main duties & responsibilities

• Specification capture, or working to existing specifications.
• Appropriate technology selection and evaluation.
• Capture of the schematic design, circuit simulation and the review process.
• PCB layout and peer review.
• Writing of technical notes, reports, test specifications and explanations.
• Taking the design through design verification testing and formal qualification.
• Production support including fault finding and documenting procedures
• Component obsolescence management.
• To undertake as required, customer and supplier visits by car. As such a full current driving licence is
