The Sustainable Finance Research team of ISS-Corporate is seeking a consultant to join its team based in London immediately. This unit oversees providing critical sustainability opinions on Green, Social and Sustainability-Linked Bonds and delivers training to various Debt Capital Market stakeholders looking to advance their ESG strategy. This position offers in-depth exposure to environmental and social topics and to various stakeholders driving the development of sustainable finance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work highly independently, contribute to product and methodology development, and to support the high growth of the business. Successful candidates will have a passion for sustainability, enjoy fast-paced and multicultural teamwork, and have a strong analytical and critical mindset. The successful candidate will interact daily with colleagues in our global team and with clients from around the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support second party opinion (SPO) and external review projects by conducting ESG analysis of Green, Social and Sustainability-Linked Bonds including assessment of the strategy of bond issuers, managing client relationships and producing reports.
- Contribute to product and methodology developments.
- Support interactions with the Sales team on technical requests.
- Produce content related to Sustainable Bonds.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience relating to sustainability/ESG consulting, environmental/climate consulting or capital markets is required.
- Advanced university degree ideally in environmental science or law, engineering, finance, economics, international relations.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability in general and specific knowledge in Green & Social Bonds, sustainable finance or analysis of corporate sustainability strategy is a requirement.
- Experience with sustainable finance regulation and taxonomies (EU Taxonomy, CBI, EU Green Bond Standard, CSRD etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and sharp attention to details.
- Very strong project management / organizational skills & track record in meeting deadlines for multi-stakeholder projects.
- Excellent oral and written command of English and German is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
- Experience in working successfully in client-facing roles is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, highly collaborative and innovative team across different locations.
