It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible. We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
As our Professional Skills Trainer, you’ll design, deliver, and continuously improve a range of professional development training programmes that support engineers and technical professionals throughout their careers. Alongside delivery, you’ll play an important role in shaping and evolving the training portfolio, helping ensure our learning offering remains relevant, innovative and aligned with customer needs and IET priorities.
This is a varied role that combines training delivery, course development, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Professional Development team to create high‑quality learning experiences that provide real value and impact for delegates. We’re looking for someone with experience delivering professional training or learning programmes who is passionate about creating engaging and high‑quality learning experiences. You’ll be a confident communicator and presenter, comfortable delivering training to different audiences both in‑person and online. You’ll understand how to adapt your style and content to suit different learning needs, helping delegates feel engaged, supported, and motivated. Strong organisational skills will be important, as you’ll be managing course delivery, maintaining materials, and supporting multiple activities across the training portfolio.
You’ll also be someone who enjoys improving and evolving learning content, using feedback and insight to enhance courses and delivery methods over time. Relationship building will be a key strength. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and external trainers, building positive partnerships and helping identify opportunities to grow and improve the training offering. Most importantly, you’ll bring a proactive and customer‑focused approach, with a genuine interest in helping people develop professionally and achieve their goals.
