The Role

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is seeking an Independent Member to join its Finance Assurance & Risk Committee. The post holder will demonstrate a commitment to the ICE Group Mission and 2025 Vision, communicating the essential work of the Institution to a wide audience of civil engineering professionals, infrastructure policy-makers and the general public.

Who we are looking for:

The independent member of the Finance Assurance & Risk Committee will be someone who has Board level/senior level strategic performance management expertise in similar complex (and commercial) environments. The Finance Assurance & Risk Committee member will have a track record as a senior commercial finance professional and bring knowledge of risk management and corporate governance. Holding a CCAB or similar qualification, they will help the Finance Assurance & Risk Committee ensure that effective strategic financial management including budget setting, financial reporting, performance management functions and adequate risk management processes are in place, working collaboratively with other committee members and wider Institution.

The post holder may also be asked to provide additional advice and input on an ad-hoc basis. Meetings are usually convened on Mondays between 10am – 12.30pm with a split of online and in-person meetings held at the ICE offices in central London, One Great George Street, Westminster, London, SW1P 3AA. Remote attendance is possible with advance notice.
