Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Digital Copywriter to join our team on an initial 8-month fixed-term contract. While formally part of the Editorial team, this role will work closely day-to-day with the Website team to draft and apply high editorial scrutiny to content for the website and other digital channels.
The primary focus of this role is to support a major project to update and improve the institute.global website. This includes contributing to a revised information architecture and content refresh that better reflects the organisation’s priorities. You will be responsible for writing and editing content across the site, as well as providing ad hoc content support as needed throughout the project rollout.
In addition, the role will contribute to ongoing SEO initiatives, including running copy experiments and supporting strategic content development to increase reach and engagement.
You will also take an active role in day-to-day content management: handling internal website content requests, updating and merchandising landing pages (including the homepage), and ensuring digital content is aligned with the wider communications plan.
As part of a wider digital team you will work with social and marketing teams to ensure content is used optimally across channels.
Required Skillset
- Editorial and Writing Skills:
- Applying and adhering to a highly developed house style guide
- Writing clear, engaging and grammatically correct copy
- Adapting tone of voice according to brand guidelines
- Editing and proofreading existing content for accuracy, clarity and style
- Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Website & Digital Content Management:
- Editing and updating website pages using CMS platform (Contentful)
- Strong experience with information architecture and content strategy
- Repurposing content across different digital platforms (web, social, email)
- Gathering and interpreting content requirements from internal stakeholders
- SEO Copywriting:
- Writing SEO-optimised content and familiarity with on page SEO
- Analytics and Optimisation:
- Understanding of Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs)
- Using data insights to refine and improve content performance
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 – 5 years experience as part of an editorial team.
- Proven experience in website and digital content management and information architecture principles.
- Strong experience with writing across digital channels including email and social.
- Strong understanding of content strategy.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice.
- Demonstrated ability to create SEO-friendly content and interpret keyword data.
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing workflows.
- Preferred experience in using analytics and SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and digital compliance standards.
