The Company: One of the World's largest Logistics and supply chain companies operating across over 100 counties and territories worldwide, who are one of the region's largest employers with a fantastic reputation for career progression and long service throughout the organisation. Due to a significant increase in volumes and on the back of the company's growth, the customer is now seeking a Mechanic to join the team at their Manchester Facility.
The Role: Working under the Workshop Manager, a Vehicle Mechanic is required to join the business to be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of their large fleet at their Irlam Facility. 2 shift rotation (1-week mornings and 1-week afternoons): 07:00 - 15:30, 15:00 - 23:30.
You will take responsibility for:
- Maintaining, servicing, and repairing large fleets varying from light vans through to HGVs and trailers.
- Carrying out MOT inspections and testing on large fleet.
- Responding to breakdowns and carrying out regular maintenance inspections.
- Carrying out maintenance scheduling, taking responsibility for stock control and generating reports.
What You Need: It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Experience of working as a vehicle mechanic with all levels of experience.
- Must have a full UK driving license.
- Ideally C&G Level 3 qualified in Mechanics or equivalent; however, all levels of qualifications and training will be considered.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience of working with large commercial vehicles / HGVs would be an advantage; however, not essential as full training is offered.
- Holding a 7.5 tonne or C1 license would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of working as a mechanic in a logistics/warehouse/manufacturing background or within a large fleet would be helpful but not essential as all backgrounds will be considered.
What Is On Offer: On offer is the chance to join a market-leading Logistical and Supply Chain solutions provider who work closely with some of the world's largest brands and companies. With a history of internal promotions and opportunities to grow, as well as high staff retention numbers. You would benefit from a salary of £38,000 - £41,000, this is based on a 40-hour week plus shift allowance. With Mechanics regularly picking up overtime and with the additional overtime premium, the OTE for the role is Circa £42,000+. Along with this, you will benefit from an enhanced pension contribution, shift premiums, tool allowances, and great opportunities for progression within the business.
