Job Description – Marketing Apprentice

The Opportunity

Our client is recruiting for a Marketing Apprentice to join their team in Chessington.

The Level 3 Multi Channel Marketer apprenticeship programme that we are offering, will allow you to kick-start your career in an industry that is constantly evolving, dynamic and transformational.

Role and Responsibilities

This role will allow you access to all areas of our marketing team. With a focus on email & social media marketing you will become the driving force for how the company presents their products to the customer. Coupled with our desire to build excellence within the team and your drive to learn and develop, you will have access to everything required to achieve your Level 3 qualification, with permanent opportunities available after successful completion of the course.

Content Creation:

· Design engaging digital assets using Canva for social media and email campaigns.

· Develop creative content ideas aligned with the company\’s marketing strategy.

Email Marketing:

· Plan, write, and send out weekly email campaigns using email marketing platforms.

· Analyse email campaign performance and suggest improvements.

Social Media Management:

· Schedule and manage social media content, in particular LinkedIn to grow brand presence.

· Monitor social media engagement and trends, responding to comments and messages.

Event and Tradeshow Support:

· Assist in organizing company events, trade shows, and customer-facing activities.

· Coordinate logistics, marketing materials, and communication for events.

Marketing Strategy & Proposals:

· Learn to create tailored marketing proposals for technology brand partners.

· Develop proof of execution presentations to showcase campaign results and successes.

Performance Monitoring:

Track and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns and social media metrics.

General Marketing Support:

· Stay updated with marketing trends and tools to enhance campaigns.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in branding and messaging.

Area of knowledge gained:

● Marketing theory, concepts and basic principles such as what marketing is, the marketing mix, the promotional mix and the difference between each channel.

● The business\’ structure, vision, and priorities objectives, and how their marketing role supports these.

● Business tools used to measure the impact of business objectives, the wider environment and sustainability on marketing activities.

● What a marketing plan is, how it is built and its purpose.

● The importance of competitor analysis and how to undertake it.

● Brand theory such as positioning, value, identity, guidelines, and tone of voice.

● Create content using principles of design and copywriting, and how to adapt for online and offline mediums e.g., writing digital content for the web compared to leaflets.

● Current and emerging technologies, software and systems which impact on marketing.

● Relevant regulatory and legislative requirements such as data protection, GDPR, cyber security, trading laws, copyright law, Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for the handling and processing of data and its application.

● Principles of conducting marketing communications in an ethical and diverse manner.

● How internal stakeholders work to support the delivery of all marketing campaigns.

● Common marketing channels, cross channel behaviour, and how to manage and operate an integrated campaign using online and offline channels.

● How to brief and manage external marketing suppliers.

● Adapt communications for appropriate stakeholders and internal audiences.

● The principles of content marketing, and content creation.

● Budget management and how to measure return on investment (ROI).

● The metrics for the delivery and evaluation of marketing activity

● The importance of reviewing campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness and optimisation.

● The customer journey including customer offline and digital touchpoints, customer personas, how to engage customers at different stages of their journey, sales funnels and how to segment an audience for targeting.

● The impact marketing has on the level of customer service or the customer experience, including community management channels

● Quality management and the maintenance of online and offline assets

Skills Required

● Passion for Marketing and Technology

● 5 GCSEs grade A*- C/ 9-4 or equivalent (Including English Language & Maths)

● Experience with Canva (although not essential)

● A strong \’can do\’ attitude

● Willingness to learn and throw yourself into any situation

● Professional

● Punctual

● Interested in keeping up to date with the technology industry and commerce/business in general.
