OurCareers Consultantsplay a vital role in delivering high-quality services that cater to a diverse student body with varied career aspirations within our Business and Law Faculty’s.
We are looking for aCareers Consultantto join our dynamic team, delivering high-quality careers guidance, workshops and employer engagement initiatives for our diverse student community.
This is a fixed term contract of up to 12 months, working 35 hours per week located at ourBirminghamcampus with the opportunity to work from home one day per week. There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to our Nottingham campus.
Deliver a range of careers services including one-to-one guidance, employability workshops, and mentoring schemes.
Support student employability through CV reviews, application advice, and interview coaching.
Organise and contribute to open days, employer talks, Careers Fairs and networking events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, alumni, and professional organisations.
Support and deliver in curricular teaching
Contribute to national employability projects and initiatives that enhance student career outcomes.
Is this you?:
Experience in Higher Education careers counselling and guidance or similar advisory work or experience of professional legal recruitment or the legal sector
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge of legal and professional career pathways is desirable
Ability to build rapport quickly with students, colleagues and employers
