The IPA Effectiveness initiative runs year-round to promote evidence-based decision-making and a culture of marketing effectiveness across agencies and clients, culminating in the annual Effectiveness Conference and the biennial Effectiveness Awards. The Head of Effectiveness Programme leads the planning, project management and promotion of all core Effectiveness activities, including the Conference, Awards, Effectiveness Leadership Group and the Effectiveness Accreditation programme, along with their associated content outputs.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
This role reports to the Director of Effectiveness. The Marketing Strategy team is responsible for helping to prepare the climate for our members to flourish and grow – through sharing the industry’s collective intelligence and creativity. Amongst its key activities include the deployment of the IPA pillar strategy (Effectiveness, Commercial and Talent) and marketing the industry and IPA widely. The role includes management of the full time Effectiveness Project Manager, plus a range of consultants.
KEY TASKS
- IPA Effectiveness Awards
- Overseeing all aspects of the successful production of the IPA awards from launch to the unveiling of the winners, and the creation of thought-leadership and best practice content with the winning case studies.
- Managing senior external relationships, in particular working closely with the Convenor and Deputy Convenor of Judges to agree strategic elements of the awards programme.
- Overseeing all aspects of the entry process including online entry systems, web copy, coordinating entries, proofing summaries of papers and proofing papers.
- Working with the Comms team to market the awards, by coordinating marketing materials, maintaining contact databases, researching and databasing potential entrants and sending out mailings as and when required.
- Overseeing all aspects of the judging process for IPA awards scheme including approaching and liaising with judges, inputting scores, compiling shortlisted results, before, on and after the judging day(s).
- Overseeing the production of award winners’ materials including credit checking on items including trophies, certificates, and on-screen, Winners Supplements, and publications including the Advertising Works hard back publication.
- Working with the Events team to ensure the successful production of the Awards ceremony.
- IPA Effectiveness Accreditation
- Project managing the accreditation programme from launch.
- Key liaison point for entrant agencies and judges.
- Marketing the new accreditation programme.
- IPA Effectiveness Conference
- Managing and overseeing the Conference programme.
- Co-ordinating research projects to ensure objectives are outlined, timeline implemented, and deliverables received.
- Liaising with IPA Comms team to ensure an appropriate marketing plan is devised and executed.
- Working with the Events team to ensure the successful production of Conference.
- IPA Effectiveness Leadership Group
- Oversee the ELG, including managing meetings, creating agendas, reviewing minutes and keeping the chair updated and briefed.
- Recruiting and suggesting new members to the group.
- Other
- Management of Effectiveness Project Manager.
- Management of effectiveness consultants.
- Writing promotional copy for marketing online, in advertising, DM and liaising with PR colleagues on press releases/content for IPA Newsletters.
- Acting as an Ambassador for the IPA and Effectiveness pillar and promoting our content and initiatives across IPA Membership and the wider industry.
- Answer effectiveness enquiries and requests for content.
- Curating and managing IPA Effectiveness newsletter content.
- Managing budgets across all effectiveness initiatives and liaising with IPA finance team as required, including receiving, generating and managing invoices as required.
- Liaising with existing and new suppliers.
