Clinical Photographer or Trainee Clinical Photographer
Employer: University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year
Location: Trustwide Mindelsohn Way Birmingham West Midlands B15 2TH
Department: Medical Illustration Department
Here at UHB, we’re looking for a qualified clinical photographer or trainee to join our busy team.
We cover four hospitals plus community sites across Birmingham and Solihull and work with a variety of specialties including dermatology, maxillofacial, burns and plastics and tissue viability. You’ll be involved in our teledermatology clinics using AI, which are key to making sure patients have a fast diagnosis, as well as working on the wards, in theatres or in one of our studios. No two days are the same, but you’ll be supported by a big team of photographers and administrators.
We would like the candidate to hold a degree in Medical Illustration, or a degree in Photography plus the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Photography and be AHCS registered. For the right person, we would be open to recruit a Trainee Clinical Photographer on an Annex 21 contract, who would be funded to complete the Staffordshire Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Photography. Completing the course takes 12 months and successful trainees would enrol in January 2027.
You’ll be covering Heartlands, Solihull, Good Hope and the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, as well as community sites. Full and part time posts are available.
If you’re interested in joining us, please get in touch by emailing becky.lee@uhb.nhs.uk. We look forward to hearing from you!
