Job title: Marine Systems Engineer

Salary: £45,000 – £47,000 depending on skills and experience

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Use expertise to provide advice and guidance of own discipline to stakeholders within project or team
  • Act as a focal point for discipline specific tasks ensuring best practices are adopted, ensuring overall compliance to Engineering processes and standards
  • Provide design assurance and governance to a team or technical standards, evaluate and contribute to design change proposals
  • Have experience in supporting defect resolution through active problem-solving skills, liaising with team members and other stakeholders to generate appropriate solutions
  • Participate in verification/validation activities such to manage risk and demonstrate compliance

Your skills and experiences

  • Core Mechanical Engineering skills and experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, Fuel Firefighting Systems, Water Systems – Fresh, Chilled, Grey and, Gas Systems, Intake and Exhaust Systems Lub Oil and Hydraulics
  • Marine, Naval or Warship experience is desirable
  • Degree or equivalent and/or experience mechanical background
  • IEng or able to work towards professional registration

The Warship Support Team

Marine Systems Senior Engineer will undertake a defined range of engineering activities in line with the extant CSM Work Breakdown Structure, the CSM Business Processes and relevant BAES Business Management Processes/Procedures. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the design intent and safety of platform and auxiliary systems and to collate the assurance evidence of this for the respective WAA while working under the definitive engineering authority of the appropriate Class Lead Engineer (CLE).
