What You Will Be Doing: Undertakes design, equipment specification and implementation activities for nuclear facility plant & equipment, including multi-disciplinary design tasks, technical specification, application of regulations, codes and standards, and management of procurement, installation, commissioning and operational handover activities.
- Technical specification and selection of equipment to meet facility, product manufacturing and/or operational requirements through requirements capture, design and/or interface definition across process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical and control aspects of plant & equipment design.
- Defining, designing and specifying interfaces between packaged equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Coordination of procurement, installation and commissioning of equipment.
- Providing Intelligent Customer oversight to supply chain activities to ensure compliance with requirements and nuclear regulations, legislation and codes and standards.
- Managing and coordinating modifications to facilities, buildings, plant, equipment and/or processes in accordance with Nuclear/Authorised Licensed Site change control processes.
- Determining installation and commissioning feasibility, defining execution logic to mitigate technical and programmatic risks to ensure effective outage management and control and supervision of works.
Who We’re Looking For: Multi-disciplinary design knowledge and understanding of key types of nuclear installation and system design and operation, e.g. radioisotope processing, conventional and chemical machining, heat treatment, supporting services (compressed air, water and steam supplies), ventilation and extract. Understanding and application of regulations (e.g. ONR SAPs and TAGs, EA DGPs), legislation (e.g. PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR), and codes and standards (e.g. ASME, BS) to nuclear facility plant & equipment. Understanding of methods, techniques and best practice relating to specification, testing, installation, change management, safety, and related documentation for modification of equipment on Nuclear Licenced/Authorised Sites.
