Global maritime team of over 600 experts delivering port, shipyard, and marine infrastructure master plans and feasibility studies worldwide.
The Role
Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with maritime experience or willing to transfer to the sector, working on globally significant projects. Hybrid working with part‑time options. Security clearance may be required.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare designs and analyses for maritime structures, from concepts to detailed designs.
- Collect and collate design data.
- Carry out inspections and surveys.
- Produce design calculations, check and review others\’ calculations.
- Create outline models, drawings, and CAD details (Revit). Review before issue.
- Prepare draft Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents and Specifications.
- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Undertake engineering analyses and reporting.
- Provide engineering judgement and advice; contribute to study reports.
- Manage and direct junior staff.
- Coach junior staff in technical matters.
- Act as Project Manager for small & medium projects.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Analytical: independently undertake complex design and analysis.
- Communication: articulate decisions orally and in writing; confident presenting.
- Client orientation: professional client‑facing approach.
- Conceptual: design from concept to construction readiness.
- Problem solving: lateral thinking, solutions with others or alone.
- Relationship building: network within team and wider organisation.
- Personable: approachable, relatable, empathetic.
- Responsible: autonomous, works without supervision.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered member of relevant institution (e.g., CEng, MICE) or working towards.
- Experience in heavy civils, structural projects, reinforced concrete, steel, FEA.
- Retaining wall and piling design experience desirable.
- Willingness to travel occasionally in UK and overseas.
