Purpose of Role

The Group Investment Management team (GIM) exists to drive and ensure value delivery from the Group’s investment programme of over £1b per annum. Within GIM, a sub‑team provides global process ownership and oversight for end‑to‑end investment financial management.

GIM relies on the rich data that is available from the Group’s project management systems, portfolio management systems, financial ERPs and reporting tools. Together, these capture information on project costs, benefits and delivery; across plan, forecast and actual dimensions; and with high granularity. In turn, other Group accounting processes such as asset completion and depreciation are dependent on these data.

This purpose of this key role is to understand, manage and analyse all investment financial data from its various sources, through multiple systems, and ultimately to actionable outputs.

Key Activities

  • Ensure that regular financial data feeds and consolidation processes run on schedule, actively diagnosing and fixing any issues that occur
  • Review and quality‑assure the data by sense‑checking across different datasets, systems and periods
  • Make data accessible to users in cleanly‑managed, efficient structures
  • Provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting and analysis
  • Build and maintain forward‑looking models, including the Group depreciation model
  • Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Develop financial views to support LSEG’s transformation to Product‑Led
  • Support the design of future processes in Fusion and across connected systems.

Key Relationships

  • Wider Group Investment Management team
  • Project Accounting and other Finance CoE teams
  • Group FP&A team
  • Divisional and Functional Finance teams

Skills & Experience

  • Deep knowledge of Excel, ideally including connectivity to external data
  • Hands on experience with the Group’s financial ledgers (ideally the projects sub‑ledger) and reporting systems
  • Ability to translate and clearly communicate complex financial and system issues for non‑experts
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Curious, well organised, with an ability to handle multiple priorities systematically and without oversight

Education/ Certifications

Professional Finance Qualification – e.g. CIMA/ACA or similar
