At IGD, you will play a key role in building digital learning that helps professionals across the food and grocery industry develop practical knowledge and capability.

You will transform learning briefs into modern, interactive digital learning using tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline. You will also design engaging virtual learning experiences that complement digital modules and support active participation. If you enjoy turning content into visually engaging, structured and interactive learning, this role offers the opportunity to shape how the food industry learns.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations – Learning, you will lead the design and development of IGD’s digital learning content. You will translate structured briefs and content outlines into clear, engaging digital learning experiences that are easy to navigate and designed for real-world application. Alongside e-learning development, you will help design interactive virtual learning sessions, ensuring they include meaningful participation and activities rather than passive delivery. You will also contribute to maintaining high standards across IGD’s digital learning, helping ensure learning is accessible, inclusive and consistently high quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital learning design and development
  • Design and build high-quality e-learning modules using Articulate Rise and Storyline or similar.
  • Translate structured learning briefs and content outlines into engaging, interactive digital learning experiences.
  • Create learning activities such as quizzes, scenarios, branching interactions and knowledge checks.
  • Use multimedia tools (e.g. Synthesia, Canva) to enhance learning content and visual engagement.
  • Apply strong instructional design principles to maximise learner engagement, retention and completion.
  • Continuously improve learning using learner feedback, engagement data and emerging digital tools.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Learning Operations and internal stakeholders to ensure learning supports programme objectives and learner outcomes.
  • Virtual learning experience design
    • Design interactive virtual learning sessions that encourage participation, discussion and practical application.
    • Develop activities and materials that support active learning in live sessions and reinforce digital modules.
  • Learning operations and delivery
    • Maintain version control, asset organisation and documentation for learning materials.
    • Support the rollout of learning content and contribute ideas to improve digital learning processes and standards.
  • Continuous learning
    • Stay up to date with developments in digital learning design, multimedia tools and emerging learning technologies.
    • Share knowledge, ideas and best practice with colleagues to help strengthen digital learning capability across the Learning team.
    • Contribute to improving the quality, consistency and innovation of digital learning across IGD programmes.

    • Experience translating structured briefs, storyboards or content outlines into high-quality digital learning solutions.
    • Strong visual design skills with experience using multimedia tools (e.g. Synthesia, Canva) to enhance interactivity and learner engagement.
    • High attention to detail and ability to produce polished, user-friendly digital learning efficiently.
