As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects and playing a central role in managing both technical and commercial aspects of projects. Examples include experience in the full preparation of comprehensive bespoke engineering reports, leading calculations and analysis, proactively arranging internal project reviews, attending and representing DFC at external meetings with clients and Approval Authorities, reviewing contract agreements with relevant support, and overseeing invoicing and debt collection.
A Senior Engineer will contribute to developing client relationships through successful project delivery. They continue to build on developing communication, negotiation and influencing skills at all levels. Dealing with high-risk issues confidently yet consulting and seeking support from the senior team, when needed, to ensure these are dealt with appropriately. A Senior Engineer should be an open source of guidance and support to both engineers and graduate engineers when they are delegated technical tasks that fall within a project scope. Senior Engineers should demonstrate a commitment to continually developing their expertise and advancing towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status as part of their professional development pathway.

To thrive in this role, you should:
- Hold at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to converse technically in English with precision and clarity.
- Recognise the value of office presence to foster a collaborative environment for team growth.
- Bring a wealth of experience, with a background in an engineering consulting role, preferably within a fire engineering environment.
- Possess good knowledge of the UK construction industry, and understand the project procurement process, RIBA stages and a fire engineer's role within the process.
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) and should be able to demonstrate that you are at least, in the process of progressing through the CEng process.
- Have experience in managing the time, deliverables and training other engineers in a fire engineering capacity.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to run several large projects simultaneously and be involved in all aspects of the project management process.
- Have a technical skillset across the fire engineering discipline, but also start to focus on enhanced knowledge of a particular technology or engineering method.
