About the IEA

The Institute of Economic Affairs is the UK’s leading free‑market think tank. Founded in 1955, our mission is to improve understanding of the fundamental institutions of a free society by analysing and expounding the role of markets in solving economic and social problems.

We are seeking a highly organised and ambitious fundraiser to provide campaign and event administrative support to the organisation. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for classical liberal ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the IEA’s leadership in all income generation activities and campaigns.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospects and uphold our donor protocols.
  • Develop briefings for key meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor engagements in our database system.
  • Coordinate donor correspondence according to an annual giving schedule.
  • Work with our accountants to process invoices and receipts.
  • Assist with event logistics and general administrative tasks.

Person Specification

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Good service ethos, and ability to project confidence with integrity.
  • Can do attitude and willingness to work evenings and weekends when required.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Sympathetic to the IEA’s mission.
  • Experience in fundraising, membership, or non‑profit administration (e.g. CRM).
  • Experience with event promotion, planning and support for delivery.
  • Experience with common office software, intranet, finance, and social tools.
