Job Overview

The Careers Officer - Film, Games, Business & Marketing (North) is responsible for supporting AD Education UK students and recent graduates, primarily from the School of Film & Games and the School of Business & Marketing to transition successfully into professional work, higher study, or self-employment. This will include proactively sourcing and promoting opportunities within the film, television, animation, VFX, games, esports, business, marketing, communications, and related creative/enterprise sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Careers Manager and Artist and Creative Development Manager across all departmental events and initiatives.
  • Advertise student and graduate opportunities within film, games, business, marketing, and associated sectors.
  • Monitor the departmental inbox dealing with routine and non-standard queries.
  • Liaise with the Creative Assistant to ensure promotional collateral is provided to the Marketing team.
  • Conduct research into film, games, business, marketing, and related wider creative industries.
  • Attend graduation and open day events where appropriate.

Student and Graduate Engagement

  • Develop engagement with students and alumni across all Creative Careers Team activity.
  • Communicate through institutional platforms as well as dedicated social media channels.
  • Ensure that final year students have meaningful engagement with the Creative Careers Team.
  • Work with the Creative Careers Team to identify innovative ways to target and engage cohorts.
  • Assist with the delivery of a focused alumni mentoring scheme.
  • Work with the Careers Manager to develop and deliver the Alumni programme of support for recent graduates.

Knowledge

  • Proven interest in and knowledge of contemporary creative industries.
  • Understanding of AD Education UK’s student and alumni community.
  • Experience of using social media for promotional purposes.
  • Previous experience of higher education focused on creative industries is desirable.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to input data correctly.
