About The Role

Working with the Head of ICT and as part of a small, collaborative team, your primary responsibility is to support the delivery of the organisation's ICT support services. This role is predominantly 1st and 2nd line support, working hands-on and hands-off. It also includes desktop support, server support and general infrastructure. Project work from time to time might include server upgrades, cloud-based digital transformation, WIFI, router and switch upgrades.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be engaging with various teams across the client, our IT partners, our members and other stakeholders. You will be flexible with a willingness to work out of hours to support the IT requirements of the organisation. You will also have a strong desire to learn new technologies and develop an in-depth understanding of the client's environment, which is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud services.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to resolving complex issues.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure.
  • Oversee/lead infrastructure projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices, both in-house and with our MSP.
  • Monitor and manage system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with other MSP IT teams to support business operations and projects.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, including diagrams and procedures.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements and innovations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Active Directory, GPO, Azure administration, O365, VMware.
  • Server administration - MS Server 2019/2022.
  • Linux administration, security patching, performance tuning and package management.
  • Azure Cloud migration, maintain and implement.
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
  • Vulnerability management and mitigation.
  • Virtualisation - VMWare.
  • 2nd/3rd line support.
  • Onboard/Offboard joiners.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and communication throughout the support process.
  • Perform other duties as required.

This list is not exhaustive. You will be working closely with our IT partners to deliver a variety of support services across the organisation, whereby you will be overseeing aspects of service delivery or projects.

Required Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server and Linux Enterprise operating systems.
  • Expertise in networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies (Azure).
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across the business.
  • Relevant certifications - Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
