Biblins Youth Campsite is part of the Woodcraft Folk centre network, dedicated to providing young people with enriching outdoor experiences. We are committed to education for social change, ensuring all visitors have a safe and memorable stay while promoting environmental awareness, co-operation and equality.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Centre Manager to oversee the daily operations, business development and maintenance of our unique site. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with experience in youth work, facilities management and outdoor education. Biblins Youth Campsite hosts schools, Scouts and other youth groups for overnight camping stays and outdoor adventures. The site is registered with the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority, providing canoeing, climbing, archery, bushcraft and other activities.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Growing site activity: building and maintaining relationships with local schools, voluntary organisations and tourism bodies to attract visitors
  • Collaborate with the Activity Co-ordinator to enhance educational programs and guest experiences
  • Working with volunteers and the wider staff team to market and celebrate the impact of youth work activities on site
  • Managing and developing the small staff and volunteer team
  • Manage budgets effectively and contribute to business planning for site growth
  • Manage risk assessments, maintenance records and safety inspections
  • Oversee compliance with the Adventurous Activities Licensing Scheme and LOTC Quality Badge requirements

The successful postholder should be willing to work flexibly, working hours vary throughout the year to meet demand on site. They will also need transport to access the site, which is not easily accessible by public transport. Off peak season, the postholder can adopt a hybrid working pattern.
