We are looking for a Marketing Officer to help develop and implement creative marketing communications that grow our brand, generate new business, and support major strategic initiatives.

About the Role

You will be a key member of the team, delivering integrated marketing campaigns that promote IfM Engage’s world‑class consultancy, memberships, and executive education. You will also support major strategic initiatives, including the Mental Health Catalyst (MHC) — a programme accelerating innovation in interventions for clinically depressed mood. This includes targeted campaign delivery to attract stakeholders, participants and funders, and ensuring effective dissemination of the programme’s outputs. Whether driving commercial growth or raising the profile of high‑impact programmes, your work will help expand our reach and impact.

The Marketing Officer will work with the Marketing and Communications team to:

  • Generate opportunities for consultancy, executive education, networks and memberships
  • Build IfM Engage’s reputation through integrated, multi‑channel marketing campaigns

Key Responsibilities

  1. Campaign Execution & Content Creation
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Officer to deliver multi‑channel campaigns across digital, print and social media, including the integrated MHC marketing and communications plan.
    • Produce high‑quality marketing collateral such as web copy, case studies, video and multimedia assets, and printed materials.
    • Manage day‑to‑day digital presence, including website updates (CMS) and scheduling and publishing across social channels.
    • Maintain brand consistency, managing templates and ensuring all materials reflect the IfM Engage brand to a high standard.
    • Work closely with the Events team to support the promotion and delivery of webinars, courses and live events to maximise attendance and stakeholder engagement.
  2. Operations & Performance Tracking
    • Manage inbound enquiries to ensure prompt follow‑up and effective qualification into the sales pipeline.
    • Act as custodian of the CRM: maintaining accurate customer, prospect and stakeholder data and ensuring GDPR compliance.
    • Monitor and analyse key marketing performance metrics, including website analytics, social engagement and lead generation, to produce insights that inform quarterly Board reports.
    • For the MHC programme specifically, oversee stakeholder engagement tracking, recruitment metrics and reporting to support high‑quality programme delivery.
  3. Logistics & Resource Management
    • Oversee production, tracking and distribution of marketing literature and stock, ensuring the team is well‑equipped for industry engagements.

This role reports to the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Senior Marketing Officer, Events and Communications teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Project management: Ability to proactively manage multiple deadlines and deliver campaign components on time.
  • Stakeholder & relationship management: Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders, including academics, clients, creative suppliers and partners across the mental health ecosystem.
  • Copywriting & proofreading: Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and create clear, compelling narratives.
  • Digital proficiency: Working knowledge of SEO, email marketing platforms and CRM systems.
  • Creative skills: Experience with design tools (Canva/InDesign) and basic multimedia production (video editing or similar).

Additional Essential Skills for the Mental Health Catalyst (MHC)

  • Ability to translate complex programme concepts into accessible messaging for stakeholders, participants and potential funders.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage participant recruitment communications and maintain accurate programme engagement data.
  • Messaging & storytelling: Ability to transform complex or technical topics into engaging narratives for clients and stakeholders.
  • Event experience: Experience supporting or promoting webinars, workshops or professional events.
  • AI literacy: Experience using generative AI tools to support first‑draft copywriting, content ideation or workflow automation.
  • Professional development: CIM qualification or strong desire to pursue professional marketing qualifications.
  • Recruitment campaign experience: Experience delivering recruitment‑style campaigns for specialist participants or expert panels.

The role is full‑time; however, we are open to conversations around flexible working. The role is based in Cambridge.
