The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) is the UK's chartered professional body dedicated to educating, developing and regulating actuaries based both in the UK and internationally. The IFoA regulates and represents over 34,000 members worldwide, overseeing their actuarial education at all stages of qualification and development throughout their careers. We set examinations, continuing professional development, professional codes and disciplinary standards for our members.
We are currently recruiting a Business Analyst for a Permanent contract. This role is hybrid, both working from home and in any of our hubs. We encourage our colleagues to work flexibly between home and the hub to suit their needs and preferences, in line with our hybrid working policy. Colleagues are able to work their hours flexibly, in line with core business hours and requirements. We also offer formalised flexible working agreements. The starting salary is £54,055 or £57,760 if based in London.
The principal accountabilities for this position are:
- Lead requirements elicitation and analysis across the programme
- Translate curriculum and assessment design into clear business and functional requirements
- Groom and maintain requirements to align with overall strategic and design principles
- Manage the programme Design Authority, alongside senior users
- Support design and delivery of a new global assessment function
- Analyse and document as-is and to-be processes
- Ensure alignment of curriculum outcomes, learning materials, assessments, and systems
- Support solution design, backlog refinement, and delivery planning
- Define acceptance criteria and support testing activities
- Identify risks and support mitigation planning
- Ensure regulatory, accessibility and data protection compliance
- Maintain traceability between requirements and delivered outcomes
We are looking for candidates with the following knowledge and experience:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex change programmes
- Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with technology delivery teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in education, learning or assessment environments
- Experience with digital learning or assessment platforms
- Business Analysis or related professional qualification
