Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Farm Accountant to manage financial records, budgeting, and financial analysis for our agricultural operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, familiarity with farm financial management, and the ability to contribute to the financial success and sustainability of the farm.
- Job Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the farm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions related to farm activities.
- Collaborate with farm management to develop and monitor budgets for various farm activities, including crop production, equipment maintenance, and operational expenses.
- Prepare financial forecasts and identify potential financial risks or opportunities.
- Generate regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to support decision-making.
- Process payroll for farm employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Manage payroll tax reporting and compliance.
- Prepare and file tax returns for the farm, including income tax, property tax, and any other applicable taxes.
- Stay informed about tax regulations and implement strategies for tax efficiency.
- Analyze costs associated with crop production, livestock management, and other farm activities.
