Learning Technologist/Designer

Day rate contract

20 days of work: 2nd June – 31st July

Part-time, fully remote (UK Based)

Instinct is working with a long-standing client in the education space that ranks particularly high in subject areas of consultancy, entrepreneurship, and finance. They are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Learning Technologist (or Learning Designer with strong technical skills) who can work at pace, bring creative energy, and has an excellent eye for visual detail and learner experience. The ideal candidate will support and enhance digital learning assets across multiple platforms and work collaboratively with instructional designers, academics, and wider learning teams.

The successful candidate will ideally be:

  • Proficient in Canvas: Able to build, QA, and fix content in Canvas, using HTML and CSS to format pages, style homepage and module layouts, add interactive elements, and enhance user experience with appropriate imagery and buttons. Experience with other platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, D2L can be considered, as long as the contractor has proficiency HTML.
  • Articulate Rise: Skilled in building, editing, and quality-assuring courses in RISE.
  • Strong visual design awareness – can space out content effectively, apply consistent branding, use the right components and row colouring, and apply UX principles for learner flow etc. Comfortable working from storyboards or directly translating Learning Designer briefs into Rise.
  • Coursera (Preferred but Flexible) – Experience with building or editing courses within the Coursera platform – including formatting, uploading assets, sequencing content, and ensuring alignment with Coursera’s delivery standards. If Coursera experience is limited, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn platform workflows quickly.
  • Desirable Tools & Knowledge: Familiarity with Content Controller and/or SCORM Cloud – useful for QA and testing SCORM packages before deployment.
  • Some knowledge of learning design and pedagogy is an advantage – particularly if the candidate can contribute ideas in partnership with Learning Designers or academics.

The successful contractor will receive a daily rate, will be able to work on a fully remote basis, and will have the opportunity to work alongside a very successful, well-known education institution.
