Learning Designer – Higher Education

6 month contract, full time

1 day a week on site in London

Start w/c 10th February

Our client is a leading education body, which boats an impressive portfolio of programmes and qualifications for a wide audience across a number of specialist subjects. They rank highly in education league tables and invest heavily into the futures of the students that decide to complete their studies with them. The organisation is currently in a very busy period and are on the lookout for a Learning Designer to join their team for a 6 month period.

As a Learning Designer, the role will focus on the creation of high quality postgraduate qualifications which will mostly be designed for the purpose of asynchronous learning. The role itself will be centred on the early stages of learning design including scripting, storyboarding, and working with academics. Other team members take ownership of the build and QA, but experience with virtual learning environments such as Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard would be ideal.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Learning Design experience – ideally working on postgraduate qualifications
  • University or OPM experience is essential, especially working at scale
  • Used to working with project management processes at speed
  • Focus on early-stage Learning Design (LD), including storyboarding, working with academics
  • Experience designing learning experiences (LX) that are highly interactive, asynchronous, and collaborative
  • Ability to work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) / academics effectively

The successful contractor will be paid on a competitive daily rate, and will be on site in London 1 day a week with the rest remote.
