A leading London-based higher education institution is seeking an experienced Learning Designer to support the development of innovative blended and online Master’s-level programmes. This is a senior-level design role focused on transforming complex academic content into engaging, structured, and pedagogically robust digital learning experiences.

Role Overview

You will work in close collaboration with academic teams, subject matter experts, and programme leadership to design high-quality digital learning experiences. The role requires a strong blend of pedagogical expertise, curriculum design capability, and stakeholder facilitation skills to shape academically rigorous and learner-centred programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with academics, SMEs and programme leadership to co-design blended and online learning experiences
  • Facilitate workshops to define learning objectives, learner needs and programme outcomes
  • Translate complex academic content into engaging, structured learning journeys
  • Apply strong pedagogical principles including constructive alignment, Bloom’s Taxonomy, activity-based and problem-based learning
  • Design learner-centred, scenario-based and applied learning experiences
  • Produce learning specifications, programme structures and curriculum documentation
  • Work closely with production and delivery teams to maintain learning quality and consistency
  • Support the development of academically rigorous online Masters-level programmes

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience designing university-level blended and online learning programmes
  • Strong grounding in pedagogy, curriculum design and learning science
  • Experience working directly with academics, researchers and subject matter experts
  • Demonstrable experience designing activity-based, problem-based or scenario-based learning
