The successful candidate will combine strong instructional design knowledge with hands‑on development skills, creating engaging, academically rigorous learning experiences while maintaining a practical and commercially minded approach.
The position will involve the end-to-end design and development of online CPD modules, from initial learning design and content structuring through to building finished courses in Articulate Rise. - Researching, writing and refining complex educational content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and suitability for a global audience.
- Building complete learning modules in Articulate Rise, making creative use of its features to enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
- Creating supporting graphics and undertaking basic video editing where required.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to review content, incorporate feedback and maintain high educational standards.
- Supporting the learner journey and course structure within Moodle.
We're looking for an experienced Learning Designer who can confidently take ownership of the full learning design and development process, combining strong pedagogical knowledge with excellent written communication and practical digital development skills.
- Strong experience in instructional design and the end-to-end development of digital and blended learning programmes.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Articulate Rise, including building engaging courses and assessments.
- Excellent understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies and pedagogical principles.
- Experience designing learning for professional or adult audiences, ideally involving complex, technical or academically demanding subject matter.
- Exceptional written English, with the ability to research, write, proofread and edit high-quality learning materials for an international audience.
- Experience developing learning objectives, assessments and activities that effectively challenge learners and support knowledge transfer.
- Ability to create simple graphics and undertake basic video editing to support digital learning.
- Experience working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop and refine learning content.
- A commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance educational quality with deadlines and delivery expectations.
- An understanding of how AI can support research, content structuring and administrative tasks, while maintaining human ownership of written learning content.
- Experience within professional membership bodies, chartered institutes, awarding organisations or higher education.
- Previous experience designing learning for healthcare professionals or academic audiences.
- Experience using Moodle, including course structure and learner experience.
- Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience supporting webinars or facilitated online learning.
