We're looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join a team building and scaling a modern, enterprise-grade GenAI platform on AWS. This is a full-stack engineering role with a strong frontend focus, where you'll spend significant time building high-quality user experiences using React and TypeScript. Equally important, you'll work closely with AWS cloud services, infrastructure, and platform engineering to help design, deploy, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available systems. You'll be part of a team bringing AI capabilities into real-world enterprise workflows, ensuring solutions are production-ready, observable, resilient, and able to scale with demand.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build modern, responsive web applications using React and TypeScript
- Design scalable, maintainable UI architectures and reusable component libraries
- Develop backend services, primarily in Python
- Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS
- Work with AWS services to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient applications
- Deploy and manage applications in containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation practices
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational best practices
- Support cloud reliability, performance optimisation, and incident resolution
- Apply secure coding principles and cloud security best practices
- Troubleshoot issues across both application and AWS infrastructure layers
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver production-ready systems
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience building applications with React and TypeScript
- Experience developing backend services using Python
- Hands-on experience working with AWS in production environments
- Understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems principles
- Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling
- Experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
- Understanding of security best practices, particularly within cloud environments
Nice to Have
- AWS certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect, or similar)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Experience running Kubernetes workloads in AWS (EKS)
- Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda
- Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and IAM
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic
