The Technical Product Manager will serve as the business representative on project teams, translating customer needs into actionable product requirements and aligning those with technical solutions. They will guide the product vision from early concepts through development, making daily decisions on technical and functional aspects to ensure alignment with business objectives, using and consistently improving upon the use of AI tools for product management. The Technical Product Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the product forward and influence strategic decisions.

What are you responsible for?

  • Subject matter expert in given product area and associated industry (in vivo study management, toxicology, and/or GLP study compliance)
  • Interpret the needs of the market and identify the most cost-effective means of meeting those needs
  • Highly adaptable to the changing needs of the role
  • Break down complex product requirements into actionable user stories and tasks for engineering teams
  • Define acceptance criteria and ensure thorough understanding of technical, regulatory, and risk considerations
  • Lead design discussions with engineering to ensure features are clearly understood and feasible
  • Facilitate alignment between product vision and technical implementation
  • Own and maintain the product backlog; continuously prioritize features and tasks based on business needs, stakeholder input, and technical dependencies
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, clarify requirements, and ensure that product features meet business goals
  • Track and report on the status of product development, proactively identifying potential risks and blockers
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clear communication
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including user stories, technical specs, and acceptance criteria, is created and maintained
  • Share product knowledge and updates with both internal teams and customers
  • Work closely with operations and customer-facing teams to ensure smooth product rollout, monitor user feedback, and address any issues that arise post-launch
  • Capture, organize, and respond to market and customer requests for product improvements
  • Frequent travel may be required
  • Adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure that all work is handled securely, professionally and diligently

Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

  • Expertise in managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to delivery
  • Strong experience with Agile frameworks
  • Proven ability to prioritize and refine product backlogs based on business goals, customer needs, and technical constraints
  • Understanding of software development processes, technologies (e.g., APIs, cloud platforms), and technical requirements
  • Comfortable using AI tools for product management, user research, and iterative user feedback derived mock-ups and wireframes
  • Skilled at collaborating with and influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient in translating business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in product development processes
  • Experience in planning and coordinating product releases and managing timelines effectively
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to inform product decisions and measure success
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address challenges and drive continuous improvement
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and how to translate those into valuable product features
  • Knowledge of market and user needs for the product, particularly in vivo study workflows, toxicology, pathology, and GLP compliance.
