Location: Stone, Staffordshire (Hybrid working, 2 days a week in our Stone Office)

As a Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant, you’ll be part of that mission, using your skills to support innovation across the global life sciences industry. Reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Director, the Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant plays a pivotal role within the Instem finance team by producing timely and accurate consolidated financial information, providing technical advice, meeting financial audit requirements, and assisting in other areas such as liquidity planning and covenant reporting. This position combines deep technical expertise with high‑impact advisory responsibilities, providing consolidated financial insight and technical guidance to the Leadership team and other key stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the end‑to‑end preparation of Group consolidated financial reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness. Responsible for the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements ready for audit, including but not limited to the production of year‑end schedules for audit. Prepare statutory accounts for all group companies under IFRS. Liaise directly with the group auditors to provide all necessary supporting information to ensure a smooth audit process. Review and help finalise international reporting and filing obligations, working with relevant third‑party providers to ensure compliance. Participate in liquidity planning and forecasting and covenant reporting.
  • Technical Compliance: Serve as the Group’s technical accounting lead, ensuring adherence to IFRS and best‑practice financial standards. Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and non‑finance stakeholders. Drive commercial and other value drivers by utilising technical provisions to maximise financial results.
  • M&A and Special Projects: Support on acquisition accounting, including purchase price allocation and Fair Value assessments for M&A activity. Support the Group’s growth agenda by managing high‑priority, cross‑functional projects within a dynamic PE‑backed environment.
  • Process Adherence: Champion adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System, ensuring all work is delivered with rigour, professionalism, and strong governance. Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, strengthen controls, and improve operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Extensive experience consolidating multi‑currency, multi‑jurisdictional international groups.
  • Deep technical proficiency in IFRS.
  • Experience within SaaS or subscription‑based business models is highly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder‑management, and organisational skills.
  • Advanced Excel capability and strong overall IT literacy.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and their application in a finance environment.
