Base: Office Working Monday-Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm.

Role Purpose
The Head of Digital Marketing (Maternity Cover) will lead InstaVoltβs digital strategy and execution during a period of rapid growth and market expansion. This is a hands-on role for a digital marketing expert who is confident across multiple channels and able to both do the work (e.g. setting up campaigns, pulling reports, managing CRM journeys) and direct the strategy.
The role is responsible for delivering campaigns that drive charger utilisation, brand awareness, and customer engagement. It covers PPC, CRM, SEO, content, social media, influencer activity, and digital partnerships, alongside close management of analytics, reporting, and budget allocation.
The successful candidate will be able to translate complex digital data into clear, actionable insights for the wider business, supporting senior leadership with reporting and recommendations.
From Β£50,000 β Β£90,000 Depending on experience β 12 month contract
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns (Google Ads via agency, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, ZapMap, CRM).
- Be hands-on in running direct channels such as Facebook and LinkedIn Ads, ensuring best practice in targeting, tracking and reporting.
- Develop regional and radius-based PPC strategies in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Iceland to drive utilisation.
- Oversee landing page builds and website campaign content, ensuring consistency of messaging and user experience.
CRM & Email Marketing
- Manage monthly newsletters and automated journeys in Mailchimp, including segmentation, A/B testing, analytics and optimisation.
- Develop and scale CRM activity from early-stage foundationsβ building automated journeys that will support app engagement, tariff updates, new site launches and brand campaigns.
- Grow and manage the customer database, working with the Tech team to set up accurate data capture processes and API integrations.
Analytics & Reporting
- Own access and reporting from GA4, Mailchimp, and digital ad platforms.
- Translate campaign and channel data into tangible insights for senior leadership and board reporting.
- Support wider Marketing and PR with ad-hoc analysis, ensuring decisions are data-led.
Content, Social Media & Influencers
- Oversee the content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
- Encourage innovation in formats (reels, polls, interactive content) to grow engagement.
- Manage influencer partnerships, ensuring ROI and building UGC/community advocacy.
- Provide creative direction to the Content Creator and oversee delivery of assets and posts.
- Manage location data across Yext, Google, Apple Maps and other publisher platforms.
- Ensure new site activations, closures and maintenance are communicated accurately and promptly.
- Resolve verification, duplication and sync issues in collaboration with Tech, Ops and Yext.
- Optimise listings with imagery, descriptions and labelling for campaigns (e.g. off-peak tariffs, cable guards).
Budget Management
- Plan and manage digital budgets across campaigns, balancing agency spend with in-house activity.
- Track effectiveness of spend and recommend reallocations to maximise ROI.
Partnerships & PR Integration
- Collaborate with partners (e.g. ZapMap) to amplify campaigns and engage fleet customers.
- Explore B2B lead generation opportunities including funnels, landing pages and data capture campaigns.
- Line manage and support the Content Creator and Marketing Executive, ensuring delivery and development.
- Maintain weekly team structure via PPP (Progress, Problems, Plans) reporting.
- Contribute to monthly marketing reports, campaign PCAs and board-level insights.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background as a digital marketing expert, with hands-on experience across paid media, CRM, analytics and content.
- Proven ability to manage PPC agencies while directly running in-house channels (e.g. Meta, LinkedIn).
- Confident with analytics and reporting (GA4, Mailchimp, Ads Manager) and able to translate findings into plain-English insights.
- Track record of delivering multi-channel campaigns with measurable ROI.
- Experience managing budgets and optimising spend across channels.
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience leading small teams and working with external agencies/suppliers.
- Experience in EV charging, energy or automotive sectors.
- Knowledge of CRM strategy and database growth.
- Experience with influencer/UGC campaigns.
- Understanding of SEO, UX, landing page optimisation, and location data management.
