We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Production Team working 0930 - 1800 (Monday to Friday), at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Tamworth. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's continued growth.

How you will make the difference:
- You will support the Production Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the production department.
- Working to safety and quality requirements, helping to achieve daily production requirements, optimising efficiency and maintaining operational excellence.
- Able to work on many/all areas of the production process with little supervision and continuously seeking to improve working practices.
General Task Management:
- Full working knowledge of all Production activities including starting, cleaning and safety procedures with the ability to operate/cover all aspects as required for workload, absence and holidays of colleagues and peers.
- Meeting production operational standards by implementing good housekeeping safety, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; undertaking 5S/audits, resolving problems; identifying production system improvements.
- Assisting with quality issues and technical faults when required, reporting on issues to maintenance and stock control, recording relevant data/adjustments.
- Monitor agreed productivity and individual performance KPIs, identify and report areas of improvement or change.
- Ensure a comprehensive handover is provided to other shift Supervisors and Line Manager at the end of every working day.
- Overseeing, planning and prioritising work tasks and activities, assign and delegate tasks accordingly to team members to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the department.
- Address any issues that arise in daily production operations such as delays, discrepancies or damaged goods. Escalate where necessary to the line manager.
- Develop excellent working relationships with support functions and represent the production team in a professional manner, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Maintaining accurate records of training and other relevant data for reporting and auditing purposes.
Health and Safety:
- Carry out equipment and production line safety checks to ensure they are safe and operational.
- Champion and drive 5S and ISO standards and Health and Safety requirements by enforcing, correcting and monitoring safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment.
- Ensure a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work area and build a culture where safety is first priority.
Team Guidance and Support:
- Acts as a role model for the team with professional conduct, setting a positive example.
- Works with the Production Manager to ensure sufficient resources and training are allocated/planned in accordance with business requirements.
- Ensure the conformance and competence of existing and new team members by training/mentoring structured training plans.
- Ensure day to day processes and team member tasks are carried out effectively and in a timely manner.
- Guide and motivate team members to achieve KPIs (5s scoring, OEE, CMS complaints, HSE concerns).
- Strive to improve engagement and morale within the team by conducting daily briefing, handovers and structured diarised 121 check ins using the appraisal platform.
- Overseeing and managing the team department holiday calendar and booking procedures in accordance to department commitments and parameters.
- Monitoring and recording holidays/team absences/timekeeping on the HR system, monitor and report trends/absence triggers accordingly.
- Carry out return to work interviews accordingly supporting adjustments if/when required.
- Positively contributes to team meetings and delivers toolbox talks to the team.
Undertakes duties in accordance with all relevant management systems and controls.
- In-depth knowledge, experience and ability to work across most / all areas of the production process.
- A proven record of hitting KPI targets and in improving standards.
- Excellent communicator who is able to motivate and engage a team to deliver results.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of 5S process and Health and Safety Management.
- Team player as well as ability to work proactively unsupervised and in a safe manner.
- Able to train trainee operators.
- Practical hands-on approach to problem solving.
