We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team on a fixed term, 15-18 months, maternity cover contract. Working Monday - Friday, 0830 - 1700, on site at our state of the art Manufacturing offices in Tamworth. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of the business and leads a high performing finance team. As Financial Controller you will oversee all financial aspects of the business, acting as a trusted business partner to operational and commercial teams. You will provide hands on leadership to the finance team, deliver high quality financial reporting and analysis, and ensure strong financial controls and effective processes and strong governance across the organisation. Responsibilities include: •Lead and motivate the transactional finance team, prioritise workloads and supervise day-to day activities to drive accountability and maintain high standards.
•Oversee the sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook, and general ledger activities.
•Prepare and review monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
•Deliver high quality, insightful KPI and management reporting with financial analysis and commentary.
•Own the rebate control process, ensuring agreements are accurately maintained, validating accruals, claims, and settlements.
•Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
•Coordinate year-end audits and statutory compliance requirements.
•Prepare VAT and other statutory returns.
•Provide financial support, commercial insight, and analysis to aid strategic decision making.
•Support wider group company reporting and financial activities. We're looking for someone who has: •Professional accounting qualification with some post-qualification experience.
