We’re seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function. Working on site at our office in Tamworth, Monday to Friday (0830 - 1700), reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll drive strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and cost optimisation across a diverse portfolio of raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Negotiating trading terms and agreements with vendors.
- Leading and managing the team effectively.
- Planning and maintaining a reduction of expenditure whilst deflecting price increases without detriment to quality and standards.
- Driving supplier improvements as defined through KPIs, creating a plan for meaningful supplier reviews in conjunction with the Quality department.
- Deputising in the absence of the Head of Operations.
- Supporting the Insurance risk mitigation through on-site reviews and claims process.
- Ensuring all procurement is in line with our ethical trading policy ensuring compliance targets, legal requirements i.e. modern slavery are adhered to.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within manufacturing or construction.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and packaging regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with a passion for improvement.
