The Role
We are looking for a Principal Platform Consultant to join our team. Reporting to the Configuration Lead, this customer-facing role will focus on analysing requirements, documentation, design, and configuration of the INSTANDA platform to meet our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate will also be deeply involved in problem-solving and designing solutions to integrate technologies with the INSTANDA platform.
The Principal Platform Consultant is a Configuration expert, with a focus on providing solutions to complex issues that can be solved using out of the box capabilities, including the use of augmented tools. They are responsible for taking complex Requirements elicited by the Business Analyst “the What” and has the authority to define how they can be delivered using native platform capabilities “the How”. As an expert INSTANDA Configurator, they will feed into solution design and prioritisation of configuration improvements. Equally, once a solution is defined, the Principal Platform Consultant will either implement themselves or provide oversight to the INSTANDA Configuration team to implement the change, acting as a point of escalation.
While prior experience with the INSTANDA platform is not required, a minimum of 5 years’ experience with configurable SaaS solutions is essential. Exposure to the insurance industry is highly advantageous. We are looking for a smart and technically savvy individual with strong project management skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical abilities and be a collaborative team player dedicated to delivering effective solutions for our clients.
Our clients often encounter technological and resource constraints, leading to lengthy and costly launches of new insurance products and offerings. However, with INSTANDA, insurers can build their products, establish distribution networks, test, and launch their offerings in unprecedented timescales—all without writing a single line of code. The individual in this role will ensure our customers can successfully and effortlessly achieve these goals and more.
This role is UK based, primarily remote working with some travel required to our London Office.
What you will do
- Oversee the design, build, and delivery of insurance products for distribution on the INSTANDA platform (training provided; no complex coding required).
- Line Management of Configuration Analysts and Senior Configuration Analysts.
- Support the design and development of reusable integrations to enhance the functionality of the INSTANDA platform.
- Offer pre-sales support by engaging in comprehensive workshops, oversee the configuration of feature targeted demos, and contributing to the initial project scoping and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for prospective clients.
- Participate in design and discovery workshops with clients and stakeholders when complex requirements arise.
- Support Business Analysts during workshops, interviews with stakeholders, and in analysing client documentation.
- Define solutions to complex Requirements using out of the box platform capabilities including, where appropriate, augmentation of approved tools.
- Facilitate configuring proof-of-concept demonstrations during the elaboration phase to showcase potential solutions.
- Collaborate with client delivery and engineering teams to support the design and approval of new functionalities, including third-party integrations for data enrichment and reporting.
- Work closely with the Learning & Development team to develop and deliver training initiatives for clients and users on our SaaS product, ensuring a seamless handover of configurations to the business.
- Adopt a proactive approach to troubleshooting, aiding both Support and Product Engineering teams.
- Potential for travel to client destinations during design and discovery phases, as well as during UAT and go-live activities, when required by the client.
- Adhere to INSTANDA’s information security policies, guidelines and best practices to protect our company and our clients.
- Contribute to a culture of security awareness within the company.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience as a Senior Configuration Analyst or 5-8 years as a Business or Systems Analyst for SaaS software solutions.
- Experience with INSTANDA or a similar SaaS competitor is essential.
- Over 5 years of experience in an IT based client-facing role within delivery/operations.
- Proven experience with SaaS-based products preferably within the insurance or financial industry.
- Highly proficient in Excel, with extensive experience in formulas, lookups, and various functionalities (excluding VBA).
- Experience with third-party integrations, particularly focused on RESTful services.
- Conceptual understanding of UI/UX design principles, including a foundational understanding of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Other scripting experience such as Python is beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to be organised and prioritise when managing multiple project deliverables.
- Proven ability to write business requirements that capture clients’ key criteria and align them with commercial and technical considerations, which is essential for success.
- Proficiency in drafting comprehensive design documents that accurately detail the configuration of client requirements within the INSTANDA platform.
- Demonstrated ability to employ logical reasoning to develop and implement effective solutions, ensuring client requirements are meticulously configured within the INSTANDA platform.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts in clear, everyday language.

- Experience working with insurance clients is crucial for success in this role, and we are open to various areas of specialization.
Nice-to-Have
- A degree in Actuarial Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience with insurance product design, e-trading, or Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) guidelines.
- Stakeholder management or workshop facilitation experience.
