Are you passionate about accelerating the UK's transition to clean energy? Installio is looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead the delivery of our growing Solar PV installation programme. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while driving operational performance and creating an outstanding customer experience. The Role
As Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of Solar PV installations from order confirmation through to successful completion. You'll manage installation schedules, subcontractor performance, operational processes, and customer communications to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You'll work cross-functionally with sales, technical, compliance, and customer success teams, using data to identify improvements and drive operational excellence as Installio continues to scale.
What You'll Do
- Operations Management
- Own the end-to-end operational delivery of Solar PV installations
- Manage installation capacity, scheduling, and resource planning
- Monitor live projects, proactively resolving delays, risks, and operational issues
- Oversee remedial works and ensure timely completion of outstanding actions
- Drive installation performance against key operational KPIs including lead times, completion rates, and customer satisfaction
- Contractor & Partner Management
- Build strong relationships with installation partners and subcontractors
- Monitor installer performance, quality, and compliance
- Support the onboarding and ongoing management of new installation partners
- Ensure operational standards are maintained across the installer network
- Customer Experience
- Take ownership of the customer journey from installation booking through completion
- Manage customer communications, providing proactive updates throughout the installation process
- Resolve escalated customer issues professionally and efficiently
- Continuously improve the customer experience by identifying opportunities to streamline processes
- Operational Improvement
- Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability
- Develop, document, and optimise operational processes
- Work closely with Product, Technical, and Commercial teams to improve workflows and customer outcomes
- Support the implementation of new systems, automation, and operational initiatives
- Compliance & Quality
- Ensure installations are delivered in line with company standards and industry regulations
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation
- Support quality assurance processes and operational reporting
- Work with internal teams to ensure compliance across the installation lifecycle
Requirements
- Experience in an Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator, Project Coordinator, or Delivery Manager role within field operations or installation environments
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience coordinating subcontractors or field-based teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working with operational data, CRMs, scheduling platforms, and spreadsheets
- A proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Experience within Solar PV, electrical installations, construction, utilities, or renewable energy would be highly desirable
Desirable
- Knowledge of Solar PV installation processes
- Experience working with MCS-certified installers
- Familiarity with G98/G99 applications, DNO processes, or renewable energy compliance
- Experience scaling operational processes within a growing business
