Electrician - London Underground (Engineering Hours)

Installation Technology (IT) has been providing network solutions for over 30 years. We work with some of the biggest organisations in education, healthcare and transport. We are looking for Electricians to assist with all data/electrical comms installation projects.

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for:

• Following the Operation Manager\’s/ Senior Project Engineer\’s/SPC\’s instructions
• Attending all site briefings and Toolbox Talks
• Producing documents for works and conduct site surveys for electrical installs
• Following electrical installation plans and technical diagrams
• Installing, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical systems in client\’s locations
• Installing Containment CMS systems including trunking, conduit, and trays
• Passive Fire Protection a) Installing approved materials in an approved manner b) Ensuring fire stopping is properly labelled
• Assisting with site inspections / HSQE and QA
• Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations
• Supervising ongoing electrical system installations and provide technical expertise to installation teams where needed
• Use blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer\’s installation manuals to complete projects
• Completing shift reports and record materials that are used on the job
• Identifying electrical problems and repair them
• Advising the company\’s management when to replace end of life electrical equipment to prevent hazards
• Conducting general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues with testing equipment
• Following the Sentinel/ECS scheme rules as the individual card holder

Essential knowledge and skills :

• ECS gold and Sentinel with ICI (LU)
• Level 3 Certificate in Inspection Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
• BS th Edition
• London Underground working arrangements and site awareness
• A minimum of 2 of the following: QAF54, Safe Isolation Level 3, L&E , Substation Access, PASMA, IPAF, Confined Space, First Aid at Work, Roof Top Working,
