We are looking for a Travel Planning Assistant to join our team in the Integrated Passenger Transport Group on a part‑time basis (22.5 hours per week). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of sustainable travel initiatives across County Durham.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

In this role, you will support the development, implementation and monitoring of Travel Plans to encourage more sustainable travel choices for education, commuting and businesses. You will gather and analyse survey data to understand travel patterns and identify opportunities to promote more sustainable travel options. You will assist in coordinating the delivery of sustainable travel initiatives, campaigns and events within the workplace to encourage behaviour change. You will also work closely with internal teams and external partners, including schools and businesses, providing advice and monitoring progress against Travel Plan targets.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Experience of delivering a campaign to change behaviour to a target audience
  • Experience of co‑ordinating and delivering initiatives and campaigns
  • Knowledge of sustainable travel promotion or similar behavioural change programmes
  • Awareness of current transportation issues and relevant government guidance and legislation
