You will assist in ensuring the timely completion of works operations so as to achieve the optimum balance of customer and employee satisfaction together with achieving the Division's financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and control the programming and management of staff and operatives in accordance with the County Council's policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate and control the programming and efficient utilisation of resources to achieve completion of works within programmed periods.
- Identify and plan resource requirements and prepare project programmes of work as necessary and liaise with the Area Manager accordingly.
- Manage any sub-contracted activities and ensure coordination and control of associated operations.
- Ensure accurate setting out of all projects assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- HNC or equivalent/higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- NVQ Level 4 Supervisory.
- Significant experience in managing works of highway maintenance and construction.
- Experience in the application of Health & Safety legislation and procedures on highways sites.
- Knowledge and experience of contract procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and current standards.
