Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cumbernauld for a Time-Served Carpenter/Bench Hand Joiner.

The role involves manufacturing and assembling bespoke joinery items, including washroom furniture, frames, panels, and fittings, to detailed drawings and specifications.

Day-to-day tasks include working at the bench, cutting, shaping, and finishing timber and sheet materials, operating power and hand tools, and carrying out high-quality finish carpentry.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the wider production and installation teams to ensure components are prepared accurately and on time for site fit-outs.

Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe, organized workspace, following health and safety procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement in workshop processes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong core Carpentry skills, with proven experience as a time-served carpenter or bench hand joiner.
  • Proficiency in Hand Tools, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembly tools used in workshop joinery.
  • Confident use of Power Tools and woodworking machinery, with an understanding of safe operating practices.
  • Experience in Framing and structural assembly for furniture, panels, and washroom-related joinery components.
  • Skilled in Finish Carpentry, delivering precise, high-quality finishes on bespoke joinery and washroom fittings.
  • Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry/joinery, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work to measurements, and meet production deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working within a workshop and site team.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment; CSCS card or similar is an advantage.
