An Ofsted Outstanding Montessori nursery and Forest School set in a lovely Georgian house in the centre of Stamford. An Early Years nursery offering care for babies and young children. We adhere to the EYFS where a large emphasis is based on independence through free‑choice play.

The Children's Garden Day Nursery requires an Apprentice Nursery Assistant to join their workforce, to undertake a level 2 or a level 3 depending on experience and suitability. They are looking for someone with a passion for supporting the care, education and development of 0‑5s under the guidance of qualified practitioners in a unique setting that embraces Montessori, Reggio and Forest School ethos. The apprenticeship will combine on‑the‑job training with formal learning.

Duties:
  • Ensure children’s welfare and safety are the primary concern.
  • Maintain high standards throughout the nursery by implementing all policies and procedures.
  • Promote good practices regarding health, safety and hygiene.
  • Be aware of the Child Protection policy and know what to do if a suspicion arises.
  • Encourage child development through effective, age‑appropriate activities and play.
  • Take responsibility for a small group of key children and complete observations and folders.
  • Liaise with parents/carers on a regular basis.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and tidy environment.
  • Know the fire precautions and procedures and your specific role in an emergency.
  • Understand dietary requirements and allergies.
  • Display children’s work, keeping displays labelled, neat and updated regularly.
  • Attend staff meetings to maintain a professional, caring and consistent service.
  • Attend any training deemed necessary to develop your career and improve performance.
  • Work as part of a team while also using your own initiative.

As an Apprentice, you will be included on a childcare qualification delivered by Inspiro Learning. This will involve an assessor visiting you regularly to provide training and guide your apprenticeship. To become an apprentice, you must:

  • Be 16 or over.
  • Not already be in full‑time education.

As an apprentice you’ll:

  • Complete an Early Years Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Have regular one‑to‑one sessions with a dedicated trainer, either remotely or in person.
  • Learn and train for a specific job.
  • Get paid and receive holiday leave.
  • Gain hands‑on experience in a real job.
  • Study for at least 20% of your working hours.
  • Complete assessments during the apprenticeship and at its conclusion.
  • Be on a career path with future potential.

Future Prospects: After successful completion of the Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualification, further training opportunities may be available. A full‑time position may not be available with this company, but the qualification will enable you to seek alternative employment as a qualified practitioner within a child‑care establishment.
