Main purpose of the job

As an Apprenticeship this role will allow you to develop a wide range of skills that support UCL’s digital research. Undertake training and development relevant to the role. You will be part of ARC’s community of staff scientists and research technology professionals, delivering the services and systems which make data and compute-intensive research possible. You will be an active citizen of the department and the university, contributing to and helping to organise discussions, build relationships, and share knowledge with colleagues. You will support the development of ARC’s operational projects. We will work together to keep these appropriate to your skills and development needs, providing variety and opportunities for growth. You are responsible for assisting the business needs of the department.

You will also undertake at least one of:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of ARC’s operations, services or projects e.g. coordination and facilitation of meetings and events, and community engagement activities.
  • Develop an awareness of research computing activities across UCL to ensure smooth engagement of ARC’s events.
  • Contribute to promoting the department’s activities and positive impact to build ARC’s profile in UCL.
  • Support the development of internal and external documentation and public facing media.
  • Engage with colleagues across UCL to ensure the smooth functioning of our activities.
