We are specialists in the supply of equipment and materials to the construction & manufacturing industries and their allied trades including electrical work, carpentry, kitchen & bedroom fitting, shopfitting, roofing, glazing, ironmongery and much more!
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic apprentice sales assistant to join our team in DFS Fixings Ltd. We are looking for someone to assist in the day to day running of the store, who is hard-working, conscientious and passionate about contributing towards the smooth and professional delivery of products to customers.
Duties Include:
- Greeting customers into the store, taking their order, and picking the products required.
- Dealing with customers in person, as well as over the telephone and email.
- Make contact with customers regarding current orders, for example: to let them know it is ready for collection, or that it could be delayed.
- Responding to queries from customers, potential customers and suppliers.
- Processing sales orders, preparing quotations and customer returns.
- Imparting technical and product information to customers including offering alternative product choices.
- Work effectively both independently and with other team members.
- Product placement in the shop (replenishing stock, ensuring it looks attractive to customers).
- General shop housekeeping – ensuring items are in the correct place and keeping the showroom tidy.
- Maintain a professional work attitude and adhering to the companies policies at all times.
Skill Requirement:
An interest in woodworking / DIY / general practical skills would be beneficial but not essential.
To become an apprentice, you must:
- Be 16 or over.
- Not already be in full-time education.
As an apprentice, you’ll:
- Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace.
- Learn and train for a specific job.
- Get paid and receive holiday leave.
- Get hands-on experience in a real job.
- Study for 6 hours of your working hours.
- Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship.
- Be on a career path with lots of future potential.
- Be entitled to a TOTUM membership.
Future Prospects:
This is a full-time position for at least the length of the apprenticeship programme. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent position with DFS Fixings Ltd.
