The Service department is vital to the success of our business. As a Service Technician/Mechanic apprentice, you will perform a range of technical duties that support high quality customer service and vehicle reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
  • Test parts and systems to ensure correct operation.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined.
  • Carry out bumper‑to‑bumper overviews, service and inspection.
  • Maintain electronic systems, including on‑board entertainment systems.
  • Undertake repair and maintenance of vehicle parts such as clutches, gearboxes, tyres, brakes and suspension.
  • Complete legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centre records.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.

Qualifications Required

GCSE grades 9–4 (A–C) or equivalent in English, Maths and Science. In Scotland, applicants must have or be predicted to achieve Scottish National 5 grades A–C or above in English, Maths and either a Science or Technical subject. Equivalent qualifications include BTEC first diplomas and certificates, OCR Nationals, Key Skills Level 2, NVQs, Essential Skills (Wales), Functional Skills Level 2 and Core Skills (Scotland). Predicted grades are accepted; conditional offers may be made based on predicted grades.
